Title: Not Gay. Aristocratic.
Rating: PG-13
Characters/Pairings: Akanishi Jin, Matsumoto Jun
Summary: “As annoying as my own mother. And twice as feminine.”
Notes/Warnings: For the JE New Year 2010 Anonmeme. Jin and Jun as Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson - afraid this one doesn't go past the innuendo phase, haha.
“This flat is positively filthy, Holmes,” Dr. Jun Watson declared, poking a pile of old newspapers with the tip of his walking stick. “How on earth do you live like this?”
“Quite well, thank you,” Jinlock Holmes responded. His modest dwelling at 221B Baker Street, Marylebone, was inherited – he could live rather comfortably, occupying his time with the occasional opium den or day at the dog track. Not that his gambling addicted friend cared to join him much lately, spoil sport that he was.
Jun sighed. “You've not taken a case in weeks. Have you no desire to leave your home?”
Holmes puffed on his hand-rolled cigarette. “As annoying as my own mother. And twice as feminine.”
The tip of Watson's walking stick found his cheek, offering Holmes a jab in retaliation. “Your mind may solve mysteries, though it remains a mystery to me how you keep getting job offers.”
“Perhaps my devilish charm?”
Jun's dark eyebrows jutted upwards. “Is that what you're calling it these days?”
Holmes leaned back on his upholstered sofa, blowing smoke rings. “Was bothering me your sole engagement today? Or mayhap some bloated corpse found its way from the Thames to your table, and you're procrastinating by picking on the living.”
“That obvious?”
“You smell of formaldehyde, Watson. There's also the court order autopsy papers you set down on my desk earlier. Yes, I noticed. And you always come to call, inquiring about my lack of work and initiative when you yourself have plenty of the former and none of the latter. Deceive me you shan't today, I'm afraid.”
Jun bent down, taking the cigarette from Holmes' mouth, puffing on it himself. “And you smell of cheap rose water. Out late round the dock whores last night?”
“Jealous?”
“Of your whoring?”
“Of the whores.”
Watson put out the cigarette in a candy dish. “Preposterous.”
He sat up, patting his friend on the shoulder. “Very well. Shall we ask Her Majesty's friends if there's any murder afoot?”
Jun grinned. “After you.”
