i was just recommending this fic to a friend and realised i didn't comment on it, so here i am!

i've professed my love for you several times on twitter and when i saw you wrote something for ninoexchange i was so excited, but then i saw it was set in space. i've never really had to courage to read these space stories because my track record with any kind of media set in space isn't that great (i tend to get really bored). i liked guardians of the galaxy and wall-e. that was it. one man's meat is another man's poison, that was what i always though.

interestingly though, i do have several RL and non-RL friends who are huge, HUGE fans of the genre, and i adore those people so i thought it probably wouldn't hurt to give their poisonous meat a try, especially since this time it involves Arashi and one of my favourite fic authors and it happens to be Sho/Nino, a pairing i'm writing as well and have come to like.

i can't even begin to tell you how much i love this. and how you've completely changed the genre for me.

unfortunately this also means i kind of wish every piece of space-related fiction involved Arashi, which means i won't be watching star trek anytime soon. lol.

i really liked the Flour Babies concept (ever read the book by Anne Fine? i actually handed my husband a copy the day before i started reading your fic (he's never read it before) and i was like, DESTINY, when i realised i was reading something kind of parallel to it) - the way you managed to weave it into the whole space travel thing really blew my mind. i love your plots so much.

also i love the way you described the ship. i've explained how little i know about space stuff so when i first started reading those bits about the Suzaku and all i had to calm myself down and treat it like one of those high fantasy stories where there'll inevitably be terms that you don't understand, and then gradually it started to make sense and i could SEE the ship. amazing.

the relationships, though. i like this nino and this sho very much. they're adulting so hard, it's wonderful. and i don't know if it's all right to say this, but i love how nino not being a woman did not interfere with how sho perceived an ideal family. do i make sense? the conflict was about them wanting different things. simple as that. there was no added drama about their sexuality. not that stories with that can't be awesome, but i just wanted to say that was very important to me, somehow, and i wanted to stand up and APPLAUD, you have no idea. lol. just. thank you for that!

special mention to aiba's super smooth, super cool adulting as well. and jun's teasing. ha. not so adult, but i wouldn't put it past him, so.

this is so tl;dr but gah. thank you for writing arashi fic. you are a gift.
